Fueling Maine's Future: SUN Programs Return for Summer 2026
The Maine DHHS and Department of Education have launched this summer's SUN Bucks and SUN Meals programs to help families combat rising grocery costs.
SUN Bucks provides a one-time $120 food benefit per eligible school-aged child, automatically reaching about 85,000 children via EBT cards by early June.
SUN Meals offers free summer meals and "To-Go" options for children 18 and under at statewide community sites.
Together, these federally funded initiatives bridge the summer nutrition gap to ensure Maine kids stay healthy, fed, and ready to thrive.
